Anzac weekend

We camped east of Warwick near the base of Mt Huntley for the long weekend. On Saturday we climbed the western spur through some enormous cobblers pegs to the top of Mt Huntley where we caught the through walkers as they were continuing on. As the road was quite wet, we camped well back from our previous spot and walked through quite a lot of water across the road. It was nice to have sandals, especially at the end of the day.
On Sunday we went up a spur south of Mt Double Top and crossed the rainforest razorback to the base of Mt Huntley, which we skirted and descended down a more northerly spur than the previous day. Washing was a bit of a challenge with long grass to get into the creek and some keen leeches. We were able to enjoy a campfire each night.We had a group of around 10.
On Monday we headed south to meet the through walkers, with a ledge walk for some, while Donna and I enjoyed a grassy area and some reading.
There was a lot of traffic on the road up to Queen Mary Falls and Condamine Gorge.
