I have just read The White Earth by Andrew McGahan who was born in Dalby. It is set on Jimbour Station and tackled a lot of interesting ideas - land ownership, history and native title.
This is the second contemporary novel I have read this year. The previous one was Sole Survivor by Derek Hansen, set on Great Barrier Island, which I enjoyed reading not long after my visit there.
It is interesting that both novels included characters who had survived the Burma railway.
