Perseverance Dam to Koonin lookout

I have wanted to do this walk for a long time. We used to go down from near the dam with Bill but not a through walk. It had been badly overrun with lantana but is now cleaned out by floods and has some lovely waterholes. It was quite strenuous in parts and I was glad of the rest on rocks at the junction with Cressbrook for lunch before a steep but straightforward climb out to the lookout and return to the cars at the National Park car park where we chatted while the drivers, who had walked on ahead, retrieved cars from the start. We took Gary and Chris from Highfields, but they got a lift directly home so we were able to make it home by 5 pm for a nice soaking bath.
