The Gospel Hour

We went to St Stephens Cathedral in Brisbane with Emily for an afternoon concert with Ashley Lewis Band; a jazz ensemble with Ashley Lewis trombone/vocals, Dale Rabic Hammond organ and Aaron West on drums. I found the acoustics poor with a bass echo and unclear talk on their mikes so I wandered around finding a better spot for that but poorer for the brass. At interval I noticed another girl had changed seats and had a chat in case she understood the acoustic space. We moved and it was better but I suspect the band was also trying to improve things. Perhaps they had not rehearsed there before their performance to sort this out. I don't know why anyone would persist with the sound of the Hammond organ.
