You may wonder at my second choice, but we have 2 CD's from Andrew and it is time I examined them and the composer, Jean- Philippe Rameau. His father was organist at Dijon Cathedral and "at age 7 he could read any piece of harpsichord music..but this was about all he would read." He went to Italy at age 18 and wrote on musical theory and harmony.
I enjoyed this earlier Baroque music, one CD being Les Indes Galantes - Rameau's own transcriptions and alterations of airs and dances for harpsichord from his first and most successful opera-ballet in 1735. The track Les Sauvages is familiar.
