Having constructed a pergola area on the rear side of the house, we converted the lawn area below the clothes line from lawn, using 1/3 cu m of crusher dust $12 and 1/2 cu m of Slash Bark Nuggets 15 mm $25.50, confined with an existing length of cypress pine.
This has worked well in the seven years since.
